As a continuation of my public notebook: I started a new daily blogging challenge to begin solidifying the learning that I’m doing while training jiu jitsu.

Notes: Wednesday July 10th

6P Class:

Warmup

Spider Guard Sweep:

With both feet on the biceps and tension in the arms. Rock to one hip, pushing your top leg to the ceiling. Extending the individual off balance, put the leg closest to the floor down. Hip now completely on the floor, scissor sweep them over. Following up to mount or arm bar.

Lasso Guard to Omoplata:

Beginning with both feet on biceps and tension in the arms (spider guard), shift to one hip. Loop top leg out and around their arm, hooking in their armpit and pulling them forward. Putting your foot out to the hip, spin around. As you’re spinning their posture will break as you sit up to an omoplata.

Spider Triangle Sweep:

Rolling: 5 rounds 3min ea

7:30p Class:

Mobility drills and warmups

Self defense oriented work on escaping guard with the premise of being held down by someone that doesn’t care about jiu jitsu. Escaping a drunk smush.

Once you build up frames:

  • Razor arm lock practice
  • Arm bar with compass guard movement
  • Sweep
