As a continuation of my public notebook: I started a new daily blogging challenge to begin solidifying the learning that I’m doing while training jiu jitsu.
Notes: Sunday July 21st
Lasso guard sweep to arm bar
Setting up lasso guard across the body to the opposite armpit–take your other foot and direct it across their body to their hip. Crossing your legs. Keep your grips while you load your opponent’s weight by pulling forward, chop your feet, rolling them over into an armbar.
Reverse arm bar from guard
Redirect your opponent’s arm across their body, slide out as if you’re going for a back take. Instead of taking their back, kick the foot that’s crawling up their back over their head. Pinching the knees and pulling up to finish the arm bar.
Reverse arm bar: beginning roll
When beginning a roll, or anytime your opponent has a cross collar grip while kneeling, hold on to it. Locking their grip in, direct your opposite knee into their hip, bumping up and stepping over. Reverse arm bar.
D’arce anaconda from kneeling
Redirect their arm across your body. Switch grips to swim the arm that was originally grabbing the tricep to slip under their arm around their neck. Set up your d’arce. Roll diagonally to your back, taking them with you. Squeeze.
