As a continuation of my public notebook: I started a new daily blogging challenge to begin solidifying the learning that I’m doing while training jiu jitsu.
Notes: Friday August 9th
We watched a Ffion Davies video and emulated her tips from mount.
Those being:
Expand your chest outwards
Making the knees like a kickstand, push your chest out and completely flatten your body.
Break their posture
Swim under their head and around to their armpit. Pull them to the side. Drop your shoulder in to crank their neck away. With their arm under control, neck cranked, spine misaligned, and your weight flattened on them–it won’t be easy for them to bridge.
Mobility
Be ready to move to side mount if necessary. Maintain heavy top pressure.
