As a continuation of my public notebook: I started a new daily blogging challenge to begin solidifying the learning that I’m doing while training jiu jitsu.

Notes: Monday December 2nd

  • rolling Troy’s class 4x rounds

Beginner 7:30

  • Mount escapes
  • When their hands are on mat, y-escape grip and scoop under their arm mainly moving yourself instead of them and extend them away. When they turn into you and push back, trap the foot and quickly grab the arm to use their momentum to trap and roll.
  • Above trap and roll, they post their knee out and make the other side light. Shrimp to the lighter side and scoop the blown out leg up to technical stand up.
  • Thrust escape. Put your hands into fists and straight arm into hips. Lift and shrimp out to one side. Scoop under the leg and drive forward, technical standup, go for leg entries, or back take.
